The Choir will have a short get together at 4 PM on Saturday, September 7th, before the 530 service.  We’ll relax, meet with Eleanor Dishong (alto from Rowan who sang with us last year!) as she discusses her plans for moving us forward in the year to come.  Maybe we’ll even do a little singing!

We’d love to have more voices join us- all that is needed is the will to make a joyful noise, no musical experience needed.   And as an added bonus, you’ll never have to worry about getting a seat at a Christmas or Easter service.

Want Details?  See or email Tal K., tbkesq@aol.com.

Thank you to everyone who came out to help with Kitchen of Hope!  Our next giveaway is Saturday, 14 September.

Dear St. Thomas’,

Last week Rowan University graduate Moses Possible asked if he could
sing at our 10.30 service one last time in order to say thanks for the
part St. Thomas’ played in his education at Rowan. During announcements,
he offered this:

Hello everyone! My name is Moses Possible and I was your musical
director for this past year. I just wanted to come by one last time and
say thank you for everything. I’ll be moving away from Glassboro, but I
wanted to say this past year, and even the year before, has been
wonderful working with you all. You know, school has been challenging
and trying, but through your kindness and your warmth that you showed me
every single Sunday, as well as the other singers, you guys helped me
get through, and I just have to say thank you so much for everything. I
really appreciate it. And for those of you who were even at my senior
recital, I didn’t get a chance to say it, but thank you. I appreciate
it, and I’ll never forget your kindness. Thank you for everything.

In some churches this might be called a “testimonial”: a declaration,
recognition, and thanksgiving for the acts of God experienced in an
individual’s life. University is, indeed, a very challenging experience
in most young lives who have the opportunity to attend it. University is
a transformative time in most of these young lives. And as St. Thomas’
has opportunity to meet and to interact with those young lives, we are
doing Gospel work to make the world a better place and to shine the
light of God’s love into the lives of some.

Thank you for making St. Thomas’ a safe, welcoming, appreciative place
for all kinds of people, including Rowan students. This is the essential
work of the Gospel and I am very proud and grateful to be able to
partner with you in it.

Faithfully,

Todd+
